The backup pair works with your pad, tampon or cup — not instead of it.

YOYI FASHION period underwear: the backup pair

We make the pair that sits between your pad and your favourite jeans. A leak-resistant lining from front to back, soft fabric on the outside, and enough pairs in a pack to get through the week.

Four drawers, one idea

The patterned one. The plain one. The teen one. The one that swims. Every pair we make is a backup pair.

How the backup pair works

YOYI FASHION jacquard period brief, close view
  1. Wear it with what you already use

Our period underwear is extra protection. Put in your pad, tampon or cup as usual, then pull the pair on over it.

  2. The lining does the catching

A water-resistant lining runs from the front to the back of the brief, so an overflow meets fabric before it meets your clothes or your sheets.

  3. Rinse, wash, air dry

Machine wash or hand wash, then hang the pair to dry. Keep it out of the tumble dryer — heat is hard on the lining.

For your style

A backup does not have to look like one. Our jacquard briefs come in lotus, violet, nude, blue and black, and most packs mix the colours so there is one for each day.

What wearers say

Best period underwear!

These are super comfortable! True to size, nice and stretchy, comfortable material. Good price for 5 pairs! Gives good coverage while also being thin so they don’t feel like a thick diaper or wad of fabric. I use it more for lighter bleeding/spotting I don’t think it could handle heavy flow days, but great for light bleeding/ leaks.

Polyester feel and comfortable.

I’m so glad I discovered these panties. No more accidental stains. They feel like real panties not depends and not loose in thigh area. Very comfortable. No plastic noise or feel. Just don’t put in dryer, they will shrink. Ordering more.

Perfect for heavy days

Got these for my 12 year old daughter who is 5'4" and weighs 134 pounds. Got these in an XL and these fit her well. They are comfortable and perfect for heavy days. They are padded enough to not be noticeable and prevent a leak. They are stylish along with functional. Highly recommend!

Total coverage and they are comfortable.

I am all for reusable items like these. They cut down on waste. These are nice and soft, and the absorbent part goes from the entire front to the entire back for great security!

My fav & a perfect panty

These bikini panties are my favorite. I have bought many, many pairs over the years. They fit great, always of good quality and I have never had any come apart. They are comfortable, breathable and cover the goods. As long as they keep making them, I will keep buying them 😁

Comfortable and Stylish!

These YOYI FASHION cotton thongs are both comfortable and stylish. The material is soft and breathable, making them great for everyday wear. The multi-pack offers excellent value, and the fit is perfect. They hold up well after washing, maintaining their shape and comfort. If you’re looking for a reliable and comfortable thong option, this is a great choice!

Choosing YOYI FASHION period underwear: a short, practical guide

We get the same handful of questions before almost every order. Here they are, answered with what our listings actually state.

What is period underwear, the way we make it?

YOYI FASHION period underwear is a regular brief with a water-resistant lining sewn in behind the gusset, running from the front panel to the back. It is extra protection: you keep using your pad, tampon or cup, and the brief is the layer that is there if something gets past. That is why we call every pair a backup pair.

Because it is a backup, it earns its place on the days and nights when leaks usually happen — overnight, on long shifts, at school, on a flight. Many wearers also keep a pair for the lighter days at the start and end of a cycle.

Which line should I pick?

Jacquard period briefs are the patterned ones: a nylon and spandex knit with a floral design woven in, three layers of fabric in the gusset, and a size chart that reaches 5X-Large. Bamboo viscose period briefs are plain, thin and stretchy, the choice under leggings and fitted trousers. Mesh period briefs use a knit with tiny mesh holes for airflow, for warm weather and for people who run hot.

Teen period underwear is cut for ages 8 to 16, with a front lining that sits higher and a back that reaches further. Period swimwear — swim bikini bottoms and a one piece — is made of quick-drying nylon and spandex and is the only thing we recommend in the water.

How many pairs do I need?

Our leakproof period panties come in packs of two to six. A lined brief needs a full day to air dry, so think in rotations: two pairs to try a cut, three for a short cycle, five if you want a clean pair every weekday without doing laundry in between. Colour sets are mixed on purpose, so you can tell at a glance which pair is clean.

How do I get the size right?

Measure the fullest part of your hips and read across our size chart; jacquard and mesh briefs are charted from X-Small (32 to 33.5 inch hip) to 5X-Large (48 to 49.5 inch hip). A backup pair works when the lining sits close to the body, so if you are between two sizes the smaller one is usually right.

How do I look after them?

Rinse in cold water, machine wash or hand wash, and hang to dry. Keep period briefs out of the tumble dryer: heat damages the lining and can shrink the brief. Skip bleach and fabric softener. Swim pieces are washed cold and laid flat.

Before you order: a 30-second checklist

  • Hip measurement taken and checked against the size chart
  • Line chosen: jacquard, bamboo viscose, mesh, teen or swim
  • Pack size matched to how often you do laundry
  • A place to air dry — no tumble dryer
  • Your usual pad, tampon or cup still on the shopping list
